How to Install Roman Shades
A straightforward install overview for cordless and corded Romans.
What you need
A drill or driver, a level, a tape measure, and usually a second set of hands for wider shades. Most of our Romans include brackets.
The sequence
1. Confirm inside vs outside mount. 2. Mark bracket positions from the headrail, not from memory. 3. Anchor into studs or use appropriate drywall anchors. 4. Snap or slide the headrail in. 5. Test the lift before you celebrate.
Cordless notes
Lift from the center of the bottom rail so the shade stays even. If one side walks up, the brackets may be out of level by a small amount — enough to notice, easy to fix.
